Keirsey Temperament Sorter

The Temperament in the Workplace report is designed to help organizational leaders, managers, and individual contributors increase their effectiveness in the workplace. It provides an analysis of the individual's personality type, leadership style, workplace preferences, and specific advice on areas of strength to emphasize, as well as areas of potential blind spots.

I took the Keirsey Temperament Sorter in order to learn more about how my personality works with my career interests - here are the results.

The Keirsey Temperament Sorter divides people into four categories: guardian, idealist, rational, and artisan. I was given "guardian". Here are some of the common traits of a guardian.

The test works well with the Myers Briggs Form Q that I have also taken. For "guardians" that have the "ISTJ" personality trait (as mentioned by the Myers Briggs Form Q), Keirsey gives the label of "Inspector".

This summary tells me the following. I would be:

  • A responsible manager of people and products

  • Patient with my work and job

  • A good rule enforcer

  • Set high standards for my subordinates

  • A little impatient with others that cannot follow rules/directions
